We've had a busy summer here, and it has been challenging for our team, as it has been for many up and down the country as we all battle against some record-breaking temperatures. Thankfully the rain has returned and the working temperatures are far more accommodating. We want to thank our staff for continuing to keep up the fantastic output levels throughout.
There has been a range of different requests in over the past couple of months, but we wanted to show you another video showing the process for a one-piece mailer.
You may have used a one-piece mailer at some stage - these are commonly used for postal drops, which gives all the info to the recipient and a tear off sheet to fill out, as well as a return envelope all in one - the trick is in the folds and the glue lines.
In the video you see the machine applying the perforation to the tear-off section of the mailer, before applying permanent glue to other areas of the document to create the 'pocket' for the perforated sheet to fit neatly in to. Once that is done, remoist glue is added to form the 'lick and stick' part of the envelope - all in one swift process.
Compared to our previous video which you can see in our blog back in January, this particular job has more folds needed for all the information within, so has the remoist gum applied and two permanent glue lines to form the pocket - allowing the user to fill out the details on the sheet then 'lick and stick', where the remoist gum does its job and creates an adhesive, allowing it to be secured and able to post back to the sender.
